Envy, jealousy, and coveting are all the same idea. They are all the wrongful feeling of wishing ill on someone else because they have belongings or advantages that you wish you had. They are all ungrateful, and they are all sins. Coveting is in the same category as stealing, adultery, and other sins. If you are selfish and wish to please your earthly desires, then you are bound to sin. When you are tempted to covet, stop immediately. It is best to focus on your blessings and yourself than to look at other people and their belongings and blessings. God wants the best for you, and He knows that you are unique. Therefore, you need to not compare yourself to others, and you need to trust in God to supply your needs. God blesses His children. If you stop and look at how He has blessed you, instead of looking at others and feeling jealous, then you will feel blessed and joyful.
