Being faithful to God, to the Bible, and to his commands are important pillars of Christian life. Faithfulness leads us to a closer relationship with Christ, it helps prevent us from sinning, and is one of the fruits of the Spirit. As we grow closer to God, and do his will, we will become more faithful, but there is more to faithfulness than just not sinning. We must love the Lord, and believe what he commands. We must trust that he knows what is right for us, and listen when he commands us to do something.

Being a faithful Christian is harder than it sounds. It involves doing the Lord’s will, even when it is inconvenient. It involves not rejecting the Lord, even if it is socially required. It involves being an outspoken messenger for Jesus, although this is something society frowns upon. Being a faithful follower of the Lord is difficult. Here are some verses on this subject:

Proverbs 28:20 – “A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.”
