God always knows what is best for us. By being obedient to God, we show that He is important to us, and that we are willing to do whatever He calls us to do. In order to learn how to be obedient, we can read the Bible and observe what Jesus did. Jesus demonstrated obedience to God through this actions–even to the cross and resurrection–and taught us to obey His commandments through His teachings.

Verses on obedience:

Romans 1:5 KJV: “By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name…”

Romans 5:19 KJV: “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.”

2 Corinthians 10:5-6 KJV: “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.”

Philippians 2:8 KJV: “And being found in fashion as a man, [Jesus] humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”

Hebrews 5:8 KJV: “Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered…”

1 Peter 1:2 KJV: “Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.”

1 Peter 1:13-14 KJV: “Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance…”

2 John 1:6 KJV: “And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.”
